Questions, comments, complaints, bugs about this page? We would like to hear from you.

Signing up
1. Sign up for all training classes online. To begin, go here.
2. You will see a page listing all of the upcoming training sessions, sorted by equipment. Additional information, such as session date and the trainer holding the class is provided for each training session. If you do not see the equipment training session you are looking for, please skip down to the "Requesting" section.
3. Once you find the class you are looking for, click on the Sign Up link.
4. You will be prompted to enter your buzzcard number, scheduler login, and scheduler password. Click on Submit when you are done.
5. An e-mail will be sent out to the trainer notifying him/her that you have signed up for the class.
6. An e-mail will be sent to you confirming that you have registered for the training session, listing the time and date of the session.

Requesting
1. If you do not see a training session available for the piece of equipment you are looking for, you may request a new class. You may do this by clicking on the red link at the bottom of the page, or by going to here.
2. You will be prompted to enter your scheduler login and scheduler password. Click on Submit when you are done.
3. On the request form, choose the equipment you would like to receive training on. You will also be able to select suggested times when you would be available to attend a training session. Please keep in mind, however, that the scheduling is ultimately the equipment trainer's decision, not yours.
4. After you fill out the request form, an e-mail will be sent to the trainer for the equipment. Watch for e-mails notifying you that a training class has been set up.

Training
1. Before the training session, read through the text instructions online here. If a training video is available, you will need to review it also here. You do not need to memorize these instructions, but do get a feel for the basic operation of the equipment. That way, you will be able to pay more attention to operation details when you attend the more in-depth training session.
2. The day before the training session, you will receive another e-mail reminding you of the upcoming class.
3. On the day of the training class, arrive at the cleanroom on time. Be sure to leave enough time to gown up. If this is your first time inside the cleanroom, please review the proper gowning procedure found in the cleanroom manual located here.
4. If you arrive before the trainer does, wait for him/her at the equipment location. If you do not know where the equipment is located, you can find it on the cleanroom layout at http://grover.mirc.gatech.edu/floorplan.
5. During the training session, make sure that you can clearly see and understand everything the trainer says and does. Do not be afraid to ask questions. Take notes, but be sure to use cleanroom paper. Normal paper is not allowed inside the cleanroom, as it gives off too many particles. If you need a cleanroom notebook or binder, ask a staff member for one before the class starts.

Check-off
1. After the training class, go back over all of the equipment instructions and study your training session notes. Try using the equipment under the supervision of a group member who is authorized to use the system. Please note that if you do this, the authorized user must remain with you the entire time that you are operating the equipment.
2. When you feel that you have enough knowledge and experience to use the equipment on your own, contact the trainer once again to set up a check off time.
3. During the check off session, you will need to demostrate to the trainer that you can confidently operate the equipment on your own, with no help from notes or other users. You will also need to answer any questions the trainer asks you.
4. If the trainer is convinced that you can safely use the equipment, he/she will authorize your access. You will then be able to log in to the piece of equipment and reserve time using the cleanroom equipment scheduler.
